Job Title: Import Manager

Responsibilities:

1. Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements for all imported goods.
2. Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with international suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing the importation process.
3. Logistics Coordination: Oversee the coordination of inbound shipments, collaborating with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective imports.
4. Documentation Management: Manage and review import documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
5. Tariff Classification: Stay informed about changes in tariff classifications, trade agreements, and import/export regulations to optimize duties and taxes.
6. Inventory Control: Collaborate with the inventory management team to monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure a seamless flow of imported goods.
7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to import operations, implementing strategies to minimize delays and disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in import management, preferably in a logistics or international trade environment.
• In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and import/export compliance.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• Familiarity with import-related software and systems.
